The filing deadline for H-1B visas is April 1st 2010 for a start date of October 1, 2010. Only 65,000 H-1B visas are issued per year, with an additional 20,000 for those with U.S. Master’s degrees. Additional H-1B1 visas are available to nationals of Singapore and Chile. Employees of government research organizations, institutions of higher education and or related or affiliated nonprofit entities, or nonprofit research organizations are not subject to the cap and can apply for H-1B visas at any time.
